During a meeting Tuesday night, Waveland Aldermen announced they would be terminating the contract of the city comptroller Tom Worrell in an effort to reduce the budget shortfall.
This staff reduction is just the latest in a series for the city, that has been struggling to get out of the red. Some of the other items up for discussion at the meeting included a possible tax increase, and a tentative timeline for when furloughed employees can expect to return to work.
We'll have the latest information from the meeting as it becomes available at WLOX News and WLOX.com.
