Pascagoula Police: Motorcyclist lucky to be alive

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) -

A Moss Point man is lucky to be alive after a Tuesday afternoon motorcycle accident on Telephone Road in Pascagoula.

According to Lt. Chris Blythe, William Jones, 34, was heading north around 3pm. Blythe said that's when a vehicle in the southbound lane tried to make a left turn on to Hospital Road and hit the motorcycle.

Jones was sent flying from the bike, hit the car's windshield, and landed 20 feet from the car in the middle of the road. He was taken to nearby Singing River Hospital.

Police said he had a bad cut on his left arm and was complaining of lower back pains. The accident is still under investigation.
