Multi-agency effort recovers $100,000 in narcotics

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - A multi-agency investigation has recovered an estimated $100,000 in stolen narcotics, and led to the arrest of a Biloxi couple.

Friday, Ocean Springs police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Ocean Springs Discount Pharmacy.  The victim was a pharmaceutical supplier who was delivering an order of various medications.

Police say the suspect, 32 year old Sunue Dilege, allegedly threatened the victim with pepper spray and fled with the medication.

According to police, the victim was able to identify the suspect's car tag, and it was found to be reported stolen in Biloxi.

As the investigation grew, it involved the Biloxi Police, the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and other agencies.

According to police, when the suspect was located, more than 5,000 prescription pills were recovered, including  Oxycontin, Opana, Oxycodone an d Morphine.

Ocean Springs Police Department has charged Dilege with one count of armed robbery. The Harrison County Sheriff's Office has pending charges of four counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Harrison County Deputies have also charged Dilege's girlfriend, 33 year old Krystal Gale Perkins, with four counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

In all, the Ocean Springs Police Department, the Jackson County Narcotics Task Force, the Biloxi Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics were involved in the investigation.

Authorities say this collective effort was key in preventing the narcotics from being distributed along the streets of the South Mississippi.
