South Mississippi weekend whereabouts August 19th - 21st

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Acrobats are flying across the stage at the Beau Rivage to entertain audiences with the latest cirque style show New Ezuru. Watch in amazement and enjoy lots of laughs from Bello the clown. The show runs Friday through next weekend.

Get some exercise and release your creativity with Letterboxing. It's become a popular hobby that combines hiking, treasure hunting, art and journaling. Head on over to Grand Bay Reserve and follow clues posted on the internet to help you seek out hidden letterboxes. It's begins at 9:30a.m. Saturday morning and it's completely free.

Chow down on fresh fish without having to do the work of reeling in the catch and enjoy the sounds of gospel music. All to help homeless residents of Jackson County. Family Promise a non-profit working to open it's doors to help those without a place to call home is hosting the event to educate you about their mission. Help them help others Saturday between 10:30a.m. and 2p.m.

The shrimp will be boiling at Pelican Landing in Moss Point all to fund the Junior Auxiliary in their quest to help children. Enjoy live entertainment and take home one of the great items up for auction. The event is begins at 7p.m.

Performers listen up this weekend take a crash course in theatrical makeup. The folks at John Westley School of Music will teach attendees the basics of painting your face for stage lighting. It's Sunday at 6p.m. at the studio on Pass Road in Gulfport.

Some of the best chefs in all of South Mississippi will be cooking up eatable masterpieces all in hopes of taking home the gold at this year's Culinary Classic. And the best part is you are invited to indulge in the creations. Follow the delightful smell into the IP Casino Sunday between 6 and 10.

Also on Sunday be a superhero and take home a pet. The Humane Society of South Mississippi will be open from noon until 4 and those who fly in as their favorite super hero will get 25-percent off the adoption fee.
