Kroger says Mississippi stores not in ground beef recall
Late last week National Beef Company issued a recall on ground beef products that may contain E. Coli.
Saturday evening, Kroger issued a press release limited to the four states affected by the recall as follows: Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee to inform customers of the recalled products.
"At this point, the Class 1 recall, issued by National Beef Company, only affects retailers in the four states mentioned above," said Joe Bell, Marketing & Public Affairs for the Kroger Delta Division.
"The Kroger ground beef products sold in our Delta Division stores have not been included in this recall. However there is a full product list of the items available on our website at www.kroger.com/recall by name and UPC code."
Kroger's Delta Division, based in Memphis, Tennessee currently operates 111 stores under the Kroger banner in Memphis and West Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Southern Missouri, and Southwest Kentucky.
