Sea Wolves Take Down Pride Behind The Play Of Steffon Walby

Florence, SC (Ticker) -- Steffon Walby finished with a goal and four assists to help the Mississippi Sea Wolves skate to a 5-4 victory over the Florence Pride. Walby, who has 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists) in his last six games, opened the scoring in the game at the 4:24 mark of the first period and then helped on every remaining Mississippi goal.

Brent Gauvreau potted his fourth marker of the season and chipped in with three assists and Jim Baxter netted his third goal of the year to go along with a pair of helpers for the Sea Wolves, who have won three consecutive games.

Greg Gardner made 19 saves en route to his fifth win of the season. Mike Souza scored a pair of goals for Florence, which fell to 8-4-1 all-time against Mississippi in the regular season.

Allan Sirois and Victor Gervais each recorded three assists for the Pride. Gervais now has four goals and seven assists in his last six games. Dan Lombard, who is still searching for his first win, had 26 saves in the loss, dropping to 0-4-0.

The Stone and Mississippi Gulf Coast product returned to Perkinston to hold his Believe It and Achieve It Camp, a free baseball clinic that allowed area youth a chance to rub elbows and get hands-on instruction from a former Major League Baseball player.
