South Mississippi weekend whereabouts August 12th - 14th

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

It's Finally Friday and there's so much going on this weekend. Here's a look at some of the events.

It will be a rockin' good time at the Hard Rock Casino Friday night and all to help South Mississippi families achieve the dream of home ownership. Enjoy live music, great food and drink and go home with a guitar signed by Goo Goo Dolls or an Archie Manning Saints jersey. All proceeds from this year's Rockin' the Coast will benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Take home a new shinny rock from the gem and mineral show, or just stop by and browse through the unique crystals, minerals and beads. While you shop enjoy some barbecue, the folks from The Shed will be smoking up the West Harrison Civic Center. The show is today through Sunday.

Who done it? You're invited to take a seat in the jury box and help solve a murder mystery at Oak Crest Mansion. Death By Bananas will keep you on the edge of your seat laughing and you won't go home hungry because dinner will be served during the show. The trial will begin Friday night at 7p.m.

Downtown Picayune is the place to be for art music and old cars. Coast on over and cruise down Canal Street where artists and musicians will be set up along the route. It's Friday night between 7 and 10.

Art will come alive Saturday inside the stainless steel panels of the Ohr O'Keefe Musuem. Several talented South Mississippi women will showcase everything from stone carving to cooking and there will even be a wine sampling.

Spend Saturday strumming the evening away under the light of a full moon. You're invited to a full moon drum circle at Henderson Point in Pass Christian. The drums will begin sounding at 7p.m.

Relax to the tune of the piano Sunday at Westminister Presbyterian Church Dr. Erica Hopkins will perform a free concert with classics from Beethoven, Chopin and other legends. It starts at 2p.m.

Also don't forget it's Second Saturday so the streets of downtown Bay St. Louis will be filled with music and the shops will be open late. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Full-time Waveland city workers, primarily police officers, who take-home vehicles outside of the city limits could see a change to the city's policy soon. City leaders said the current policy is antiquated and needs to be rewritten into something that would benefit both the officers and the taxpayers.
