MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Two Moss Point residents are behind bars for neglect of two vulnerable adults, one of which has been missing since March.
Jackson County Sheriff's investigators say a special needs man in the care of Alfred Collins and Mattie Hall went missing in March, but neither of them filed a report with authorities.
After 37-year-old Randy Collins went missing, Alfred Collins did contact authorities. But at the time, Collins said he wanted to wait before filing a report. Officials said he never did.
Family members contacted authorities Monday saying they had not heard from Randy Collins in several months, which prompted deputies to launch an investigation.
When deputies arrived at the home, they discovered another vulnerable adult who was in the care of Collins and Hall. That person was taken to Singing River Hospital, then later released to family.
The residence where the suspects lived was condemned, a young child was turned over to the Department of Human Services, and three dogs were taken by animal control.
Remember, Randy Collins is still missing. So If you have any information that could help investigators, call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at (228) 769-3063.
