CLINTON, MS (WLBT) -
There was an eye-opening revelation at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton Sunday.
John Langworthy, music minister at the church for 22 years, confessed to molesting at least one of his young students at a north Texas church in the late 1980's.
Langworthy was immediately fired from Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas but no charges were ever filed.
A representative from Morrison Heights told WLBT; because no charges were filed, nothing would have shown up in Langworthy's background check.
Langworthy, who also worked for Clinton Public Schools, resigned several months ago.
So far, there are have been no incidents reported during Langworthy's tenure in Mississippi.
