BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Developers of the new Margaritaville Casino Resort are getting closer to receiving final project approval from the City of Biloxi.
Project Engineer Floyd Waltman met Wednesday with the city's development review committee. He talked about water and sewer plans, landscaping and parking requirements.
The roughly 65,000 square foot project will be built on 5th Street on Biloxi's back bay. It will include a casino, restaurants, and a marina. The meeting also included a discussion about the project meeting fire codes.
"You're going to need 20 foot fire lanes in front of these areas, so you'll show those as striped 20 foot areas. And we've got them in good places, so they won't eat up any type of parking spaces," Dronet said.
The project engineer said he'd like to receive final site approval for the Margaritaville project "as soon as possible."
