Borden milk returns to Mississippi

Posted: Updated:

HATTIESBURG,MS (WDAM) - A local Hattiesburg employer changes name and product.

Dairy Fresh has changed its name to Borden Dairy Company in support of Borden Milk's return to Mississippi.

The company, Borden Dairy of Alabama, will oversee its milk processing and distribution in Hattiesburg. The Hattiesburg facility will supply fresh Borden Milk to communities throughout Mississippi.

General Manager, Mark Flagg says the company along with its famous spokescow, Elsie , is aiming to offer a new great-tasting nutrition packed milk.

"There are three distinct differences with the Borden brand product. One, is the product itself. We pack more nutrition in our milk. Its different than traditional milk with the additional vitamins and calcium. Also, it comes in an improved light blocking container that protects the vitamins, protects freshness and protects our rich creamy flavor. Thirdly, it's the rich heritage of the Borden Dairy Company that has been around for over 150 years along with our beloved spokescow Elsie," said Flagg.
