GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Dalene Nofsinger sat down with Trang Pham Bui a short time ago and recounted the worst moment of her life.
The Gulfport woman was at work overnight, when she got a phone call. Her house was on fire. Nofsinger rushed home, and tells Trang she started screaming, "Where are my babies."
Nofsinger's mother was the one who broke the news to the distraught woman. Two of her children, and her husband, all died in the 1:00 am fire.
Eight year old Kaleb Sanders, his 12 year old brother Jessie, and their step-dad, 32 year old Jeremy Nofsinger, never made it out of their smoke-filled house on Williamsburg Drive.
Gulfport fire investigators tell WLOX.com the fire was likely caused by food left on a hot stove.
Harrison County coroner Gary Hargrove said the stepdad and Kaleb were found in a closet at the back of the house. Twelve year old Jessie was found nearby.
Excerpts of Trang Pham Bui's emotional interview with Dalene Nofsinger can be seen on WLOX News at 5:00 and at 6:00. She'll also talk with neighbors, and the fire chief about the overnight tragedy.
