With lockout over, local players can begin their NFL careers

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Just before Monday's nights, newscast, WLOX sports anchor Dave Schroeder talked with former St. Stanislaus and Mississippi State offensive lineman J.C. Brignone.  As soon as the lockout ended, his phone started ringing.  Brignone may have gone undrafted in April.  But, he was a hot commodity in July.

Brignone said he received calls from five teams as soon as the lockout was lifted.  He decided to sign with the Chicago Bears.  And this morning, he boarded a flight to Halas Hall in Chicago to sign a week-to-week contract as he tries to make the team.

Also, former Ocean Springs High School and Southern Miss standout Deandre Brown wrote on his Facebook page that he is headed to Indianapolis on Thursday to try and make the Colts roster.
