OS Police: Robbery turns into sexual assault

Ocean Springs police arrested three adults and one teenager after they reportedly were involved in an overnight robbery and a sexual assault.

The victim of the attempted assault was a 15 year old girl.  According to a police report, she was with a 17 year old friend on Front Beach in Ocean Springs when two men pointed a gun toward them and robbed them.

Investigators say the girl tried to run away.  But one of the suspects stopped her, and then attempted to sexually assault her.  Police say a witness intervened and the suspects ran off.

Police tell WLOX.com they learned about the incident early Sunday morning.  Dispatchers got a call about an attempted sexual assault in the area of Front Beach and Harbor Drive. The caller also provided a suspect and vehicle description.

Officers found the car, and detained the four people inside.  As the investigation progressed, officers learned that a fifteen year old female and a seventeen year old male were walking on front beach when approached by two of the male suspects. The suspects displayed a small caliber handgun and proceeded to rob the victims.

All four suspects were charged with felony crimes.  Keith Dubuse is accused of sexual battery, aggravated assault and armed robbery.  David Lee Ware faces a charge of accessory before the fact.  Duane O'Field is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and conspiracy to commit a crime.  A teenager is also accused of armed robbery.
