Troopers: Weather related accidents cause delays on I-10

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol said two separate and nearly simultaneous multi-car accidents on I-10 East in Harrison County caused major traffic delays on Saturday.

Spokesperson Johnny Poulos said there was a seven-car pile up at mile marker 28 shortly after 11 am. He said around the same time there was a three-car wreck at mile marker 24.

Officials said both incidents were weather related and no one was injured.

Drivers tell WLOX that as of 12:45 pm eastbound traffic was backed up from Long Beach to Diamondhead, a distance of 12 miles.  Several wreckers were on the scene at that time trying to clear the road to get interstate traffic moving again.
