North Gulfport residents mingle with elected officials

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

The North Gulfport Civic Club held their 12th Annual breakfast Thursday morning.

About 100 people gathered at the event. Those from the community and elected officials came together for a chance to meet one another over breakfast.

Among many people attending, Gulfport's mayor, the police chief and the fire chief were on hand along with members from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the Highway Patrol.

North Gulfport Civic Club member and representative Frances Fredericks said, "This is our way of meeting all the elected officials. And we do this once a year because it give our people a chance to mingle and ask questions and talk to them and feel like they are people they can approach."

Thursday's breakfast began at 7 a.m. and was held at the Good Deeds Community Center in North Gulfport.
