Driver survives car/train accident; traffic flowing again

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A car/train accident in Biloxi, just west of Keesler Air Force Base, sent one person to the hospital Saturday.

Although the train must still be inspected, crews were able to move it enough to open the intersections of Rodenberg Avenue and Iberville Drive. Officials had expected traffic delays in that area to last for the next several hours.

The accident happened around 10:45am when a car headed south on Rodenberg Avenue was struck by the train. Witnesses said the driver was ejected from the car and suffered a gash to his head, but was talking. He was being treated for his injuries.
