GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulfport police say a house that was intentionally set on fire earlier in the week caught fire once again early Sunday morning.
The first fire occurred on Thursday night around 11 pm at a house on 20th Street near 15th Avenue. The fire destroyed that home then spread to two other homes which were heavily damaged along with several vehicles. Officials said the fire nearly killed seven people most whom are children.
Deputy Commander George Chaiz confirmed for WLOX that a second fire broke out at one of the homes around 2 am Sunday morning. He said the cause is still under investigation.
So far no one has been charged in the first fire that has been ruled as arson.
WLOX will have more details as they become available.
