Master Chef signing books in the Bay

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Master Chef Whitney Miller was in Bay St. Louis Saturday at Up-town Interiors on Main Street for a book signing. She's promoting her new cook book "Hospitality, Simple Recipes With Southern Charm." The Poplarville native won the nationally televised show Master chef.

"The recipes are modern but with a fresh twist. The fresh part, I really like to use vegetables like turnip greens, and I make it into a pesto," Chef Whitney Miller explained. "I have one recipe called 'Not Your Grandma's Lemon Meringue,' and it's like the meringue you would take from your grandmother but with a modern twists."

The cook-book contains more than 75 of her own original recipes. Miller will be on a book tour and will do several televised cooking demonstrations for the rest of the year.

Miller said since winning the hit TV show last year her life has changed dramatically. She said she's working on sealing a deal to have her own cooking show.

She has gotten to meet Martha Stewart and next week she's doing a cooking demonstration with famous Chef Emeril LaGasse in Chicago.
