LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Over a dozen young ambassadors departed Louisville on Monday for a two week trip to Europe.
'People to People', a student ambassador organization is behind the project. Fourteen students ranging in age from ten to fourteen were chosen out of hundreds to make the special trip by teachers, coaches and principals in the Kentuckiana area.
"We're going to be traveling to different monuments, different historical places," said Delaina Snelling who's with the 'People to People' organization.
The two week trip will include visits in England to Buckingham Palace and Warrick Castle and the Louvre in France.
Twelve-year-old Hayley Sanders from Noe Middle School is looking forward to more than just seeing historical locations.
"The most I'm looking forward to is just being able to meet new people in a different country and learn about their culture and what they do on a daily basis."
The trip costs $5,000 per student. For students who's parents weren't able to cover the cost, money was either raised through fundraiser's raffles.
