LOUISVILLE (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that happened Tuesday night on East Kentucky Street. Thirty-one-year-old DeJuan Hammond has been booked on numerous charges including two counts of attempted murder, burglary and assault charges.

According to the arrest report, Hammond along with 19-year-old Steven Pettway and an unknown accomplice went to an apartment in the 700 block of East Kentucky Street just before 11 p.m. on June 28. Once inside, they demanded money from the residents there. When they didn't receive the amount of money they wanted, one of the residents, Jessica Baker, was shot in the head.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says she was transported to University Hospital where her condition is unknown but according to Mitchell her injuries are not considered life threatening.

Police are still looking for Steven Pettway and the unknown accomplice. If you have any information regarding this case you're asked to call the anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD (5673).

Hammond is being held behind bars on a $500,000 full cash bond.
