D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - A D'Iberville woman had quite a scare Wednesday morning when she looked out her front window. A seven and a half foot gator was walking around in her yard.
D'Iberville Police were called and kept the alligator contained in one area until folks with the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks got there with the gator trapper.
"There's a seven foot alligator in the yard and I thought, 'Unbelievable!'" Linda Hart said.
In about an hour, the gator was tied up and ready to be transported to its next destination.
"We just went ahead and wrapped him up. Bagged and tagged him, and that's it," the gator trapper said. "We're going to make a decision whether he's harvestable, which means we'll send him somewhere else, or just turn him loose. If they need one somewhere else."
The alligator was walking around in D'Iberville off of Brodie Road.
