D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - A 20-year-old D'Iberville man was arrested Monday after police say he assaulted the mother of his child while she held their three-month-old baby in her arms.

Michael Bailey is charged with one count of Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault and two counts of Child Abuse.

Officers were called to the Popp's Ferry area of D'Iberville to investigate a report of domestic violence. When they arrived, the victim said Bailey had assaulted both her and her children. All four live together.

Officers said they found evidence that Bailey had struck one of the children with a plastic toy gun, leaving marks on the child's body.

Officers also found Bailey had assaulted the victim as she held their three-month-old infant. During that confrontation, investigators said Bailey struck the infant once with his fist.

Bailey is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
