D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - A Biloxi woman, who D'Iberville Police say escaped from their department on Monday, is back behind bars. And this time, she has company.
Police Chief Wayne Payne said Amanda Courtney, 32, was originally arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and was being held on a $10,000 bond.
As Courtney was being booked into the D'Iberville Police Department, she was allowed to contact Franky Volf to pick up some of her personal belongings before being taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
When Volf arrived at the police station, investigators say Courtney decided to make her escape. They say she slipped out of her handcuffs, then slipped past an officer who was busy booking another suspect.
Courtney and Volf sped off, but were soon stopped by patrol officers on east bound on I-10.
Both are behind bars now. Courtney is charged with escape. Volf, 46, is charged with Aiding the Escape of a Felon. Bond for both suspects was set at $100,000.
