JACKSON, MS (AP) - A former Jefferson County Justice Court judge has been arrested for allegedly selling drugs to undercover police officers.
Charlie Chambliss, 58, of Lorman, was charged with one count each of sale of a controlled substance in Jefferson and Claiborne counties. He was arrested Friday in an investigation by a multi-county drug task force.
Claiborne Sheriff Frank Davis said the former judge sold hydrocodone to undercover officers, the Clarion-Ledger newspaper said.
Davis and Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker each said Chambliss had been away from the bench for years, although they couldn't recall how long.
