Waterpark reopen after gas leak fixed

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulf Islands Waterpark has reopened after a report of a gas smell forced the park to evacuate guests Thursday afternoon.

A visitor reported smelling gas.  A spokesperson for the waterpark said there was a faint smell of gas near an area where they're constructing a new slide.  The spokesperson said a crew hit a gas line, which has now been repaired.

The evacuation was just a precaution, the park reopened after 90 minutes.
