JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - Former Harrison County Judge Wes Teel could be out of prison in less than two months. That's according to Teel's family and attorney.
Monday, Teel was back in federal court with former judge John Whitfield and former attorney Paul Minor. All three had to be resentenced after a federal appeals court overturned their bribery convictions. That court upheld the other corruption charges.
Teel's prison time was cut from 70 months to 51 months. He's already served more than 40 months. And according to his attorney, once good behavior time is calculated, Teel could be out in 30 to 60 days.
Minor and Whitfield's sentences were also reduced to eight and six years, respectively.
