Man killed after Kiln boating accident

KILN, MS (WLOX) - A man is dead after a boating accident in Hancock County.

Authorities with the Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks said 34-year-old Curtis Landry died Saturday evening after being struck by the propeller of a pontoon boat at McLeod Park along the Jourdan River in the Kiln area.

Witnesses told officials that Landry was jumping off the back of the boat at the same time that the operator was backing it up.

Another witness went reported that the man was carried onto shore by three good Samaritans who were camping in the area.

AMR transported Landry to Hancock County Medical Center in Bay St. Louis where he later died.
