PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

A traveling Smithsonian exhibition, "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music" is coming to Pass Christian on its second tour through Mississippi.

New Harmonies explores the roots of American music, telling the story of its people and culture through the melodies that define it. The exhibition provides a fascinating, inspiring and toe-tapping listen to the American story of multi-cultural exchange.

Each host city also presents exhibits and programs featuring the local roots music of their own communities.

The exhibit was last on display at the Hattiesburg Train Depot. A tractor-trailer rig from Pearl River Community College transported the exhibit pieces to the Pass Christian Library Tuesday, where it can be seen from July 4 through July 17.
