JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Tornado warnings and even sightings in Jackson County caused concern across the area Thursday afternoon.
As soon as the tornado warning was issued, Jackson County moved all of its employees out of double wide trailers and into substantial buildings.
Residents told WLOX News that hail was falling near East Central. And apparently, a funnel cloud was spotted in the sky near Vancleave. However, it didn't make it to the surface.
One area where damage was reported was at Mississippi Power's Plant Daniel. We've confirmed with Jackson County's emergency management director that strong winds toppled an empty 18 wheeler, and a small office trailer at the Highway 63 power plant.
Tree limbs are down across Jackson County. But according to EMA Director Donald Langham, there was no significant damage reported as of Thursday at 5pm.
