Harrison Co. burn ban begins Wednesday morning

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A burn ban will go into effect in Harrison County beginning Wednesday, May 25th at 6am. Anyone found burning outdoors without a permit could be subject to fines, and even jail time.

Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan said the continued dry conditions are only adding fuel to an already explosive wildfire threat. He told WLOX News that Harrison County Supervisors will re-evaluate the burn ban at their next regular board meeting on June 6.
