Pool renovations underway for Donal Snyder community center

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

After months of planning the Donal Snyder Community Center in Biloxi has received approval to move forward with $40,000 in renovation projects.

The 43,000 square foot facility that offers activities like basketball, racquetball, a full fitness center, and swimming is in the process of replacing a filter and pump for it's big pool after recently replacing those same items for it's smaller therapy pool.

Recreation Superintendent for the City of Biloxi Jaime Lee, said the group was able to receive funding for the project by securing budget transfers.

Workers said the renovation is a move in the right direction because the pool equipment was in bad condition.

The center is open Monday through Friday – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday – 8 a.m. to noon.
