WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) -

Perhaps you went there as a child, or maybe you've never experienced Flint Creek Water Park in Wiggins.

"We like to call it 'Roughing it Smoothly."

That's how Stewart Smith of the Pat Harrison Waterway describes the park. He says Flint Creek offers just about any outdoor amenity you can imagine, from water skiing and water slides to fishing, camping, hiking or biking.

"We have 12 camp-houses used for camp retreats, 152 RV sites, and 34 two and three bedroom cabins," Smith said.

Most of those sites overlook a picturesque, 640-acre reservoir - the majestic centerpiece of the park. For cabin reservations or information, call 1-800-748-9403.

"It's great family fun, it's not too far, and it's affordable," Smith said.

And of course, 4th of July is a very popular holiday for Flint Creek Water Park. A huge fireworks display on the water draws a big crowd every year. And in the fall, an annual haunted forest is held the Saturday before Halloween.
