South Mississippi weekend whereabouts May 6th - 8th

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Every first Friday of the month Treasures of the Bay in Waveland hosts local artists and invites the public to come over, meet them and learn about their work. Friday's featured artists are Ann Kearney and Susan McManus. Stop by between 6p.m. and 9p.m.

Have a heart and some fun for a good cause. It's the annual Heart Association Heart Ball. Get dressed up and enjoy a great dinner and dance the night away. Make sure to call for tickets. It's starts Friday night at 6p.m. at the Beau Rivage and ends at 10p.m.

Ladies put on your biggest and brightest hats on for some Kentucky Derby Style fun. There will be a live horse show, music and more and it's all for the Boys and Girls Club. Come out to the Caranna Residence in Gulfport at 6:30p.m.

The Long Beach High School Choir is performing Friday night at 7p.m. at the USM auditorium.

It will be a fishing frenzy all over South Mississippi. The CCA is hosting two fishing tournaments, one in Waveland and the other in Pascagoula. Also St. Michael's Church is holding a fishing rodeo at the South Side of the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge. You won't have to bait the children into coming, the fishing begins at 8a.m.

Some of the best cowboys in the country will be showing off their roping skills at the Harrison County Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday for Bucklemania. Come out and see what they can do, the gates open at 10a.m.

Bring the family out to the beach Saturday. Fly kites, build sand castles, and enjoy some great entertainment for this year's Kite Festival. Bring your flying machines to the Long Beach Harbor between 10a.m. and 4p.m.

Listen up antique car lovers, Vancleave is the place to be Saturday. Cruise on over and jam out to music from the 50's. The Pebble Buff Creek Show gets hopping at 10a.m.

Downtown Ocean Springs will be a plethora of great food, music and arts and crafts for MayFest. It's all day long beginning at 10a.m.
