Gautier teacher paying back Tuscaloosa's kindness

GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) - A teacher at Gautier Middle School has joined the effort to collect toiletries, water, and clothing for the victims of the Tuscaloosa tornado.

The drive will last for the next two weeks, and collection boxes will be placed at the school. Donations can be dropped off either before, or after school.

The teacher, Maci Reynolds, is a graduate from the University of Alabama, and just wants to return a favor that was given to us five and a half years ago.

"My father-in-law, they have a business down here. And after Katrina, the people of Tuscaloosa were so wonderful to us and provided so much stuff, not only for the store, but for the community in Pascagoula. And I feel the need to give back to them because they did so much for us," Reynolds said.

Donations can also be dropped of at W.A. Reynolds Wholesale in Pascagoula. Reynolds and her husband plan on driving to Tuscaloosa to drop off the donations on May 14th.
