GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) - Work is underway to clean up an abandoned, Gautier strip mall that has been in disrepair since Hurricane Katrina.

Doug Walker first reported on the Highway 90 eyesore back in December. A businessman from California, who owns the property, had torn down the front of the complex, and gutted the interior.

A sign outside promises progress is on the way, but it better happen soon. Mayor Tommy Fortenberry told WLOX News the owner has about 90 more days to complete the job, or the city will tear the building down.
