Chiefs take defensive tackle Jerrell Powe in sixth round

KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs, seeking to upgrade their defensive line, have picked tackle Jerrell Powe of Ole Miss in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

Powe, 6-1, 335, could be a candidate as a run-stuffing nose tackle, a position that many fans hoped would be addressed much sooner. Incumbent Ron Edwards has been inconsistent in the 3-4 defense.
