HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - After an investigation into the fire that started in Saucier on Sunday afternoon, Harrison County Fire Marshall Pat Sullivan determined that the fire was started by someone barbecuing. Sullivan said embers from the charcoal likely landed on the ground.
Four Harrison County fire departments were called to the scene of the fire that was located in the vicinity of north Shaw and West Wortham roads. Mississippi Forestry Commission sent two bull dozers to help fight the fire.
According to Harrison County Fire Marshall Pat Sullivan the fire started at around noon.
