Missing Woman's Car Found In Pearl River County

Pearl River County Sheriff's deputies say they believe they've found a missing woman's body inside her car. Marrina Ladner's vehicle was discovered Tuesday afternoon upside down in a pond off West Union Road. That's near the Hancock-Pearl River County Line.

Investigators say the body found in the car matches Marrina's description, but they will wait until an autopsy is performed before officially saying it is her. Sadly, Wednesday would have been Marrina's 19th birthday.

Sheriff's deputies spent the day searching the bridges between the Kiln and Poplarville. Investigators have not determined how the car ended up in the pond.

Ladner was last seen Saturday, September 6, leaving her job at the Subway in the Kiln. That was around midnight. She called home and told her mother she was on her way.

West Union Road is one of the routes Marrina could have been used to get home from work that night. Many people in Pearl River County consider West Union Road to be a winding dangerous route.

Since Marrina disappeared there has been a massive search. Last Saturday in Hancock County, deputies used roadblocks trying to find any information about the young woman. Poplarville Police, the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department and the FBI have all been involved in this search.
