VANCLEAVE, MS (WLOX) - A Vancleave man who was found Saturday near a woods fire by Vancleave Upper Elementary School is now charged with two counts of arson.
When Vancleave volunteer firefighters were called to the school Saturday, they found a dumpster, a shed and the woods behind the school all on fire. The firefighters put out the flames before any serious damage was done.
While on the scene, deputies saw Ronald Martin Goszdak, 32, on the school property and stopped to question him. When the officers found an outstanding warrant for old fines, Goszdak was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
Investigators said they later found evidence linking Goszdak to the fires. He was charged with arson on Monday.
