Man accused of stealing $24k from Long Beach Football League

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) -

A Pass Christian man who served as treasurer for the Long Beach Football League is being accused of stealing from the children's organization.

James Graham Brown, 51, is charged with Embezzlement. Investigators believe Brown embezzled around $24,000 from the league between 2006 and 2011.

The Long Beach Football League is for kids ages five to 12. According to its website, the league's mission is "to instill the fundamental values of self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and mutual respect to the youth of our community."

James Brown was being held Monday at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $5,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner, pending further court action.
