Georgia man arrested for Biloxi beach robbery

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi police have charged a Georgia man with using a screwdriver to commit an alleged robbery on the beach early Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 3 am near the Interstate-110 loop. The victim told police a man grabbed him, demanded his wallet and threatened to harm him with a small Phillips screwdriver if he did not comply. The victim said the man took off on foot with $700 dollars in cash.

Using a description from the victim, officers say they tracked down Richard Alan Tillery, 47, along Beach Boulevard and detained him. The victim positively identified Tillery as the person who robbed him. Officers say they found about $700 in cash on Tillery

Tillery was charged with robbery and Judge Albert Fountain set his bond at $50,000.
