STARKVILLE, MS (AP) - Robert Johnson caught seven passes for 74 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Chris Relf rushed for a touchdown as Maroon beat White 23-20 at the Mississippi State spring game on Saturday.

Relf, the unquestioned No. 1 quarterback, completed 4 of 8 passes for 68 yards and rushed for a 1-yard touchdown on the game's opening drive.

Tyler Russell completed 15 of 26 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception while former St. Stanislaus Rockachaw Dylan Favre completed 17 of 26 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Favre also rushed for 41 yards and led the Maroon team on its game-winning drive. The two are the main candidates to be Relf's backup.

Linebacker Ferlando Bohanna led both teams with eight tackles, including three for a loss and two sacks.

Derek DePasquale made field goals from 54 and 47 yards, respectively.
