HATTIESBURG, MS (AP) - Senior Austin Davis threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns as the Black defeated the Gold 45-10 at the Southern Miss spring game Saturday.

The Black team, made up mostly of projected starters, scored on its first four possessions. The Gold team was led by redshirt freshman Arsenio Favor and redshirt sophomore Chris Campbell, who alternated possessions at quarterback.

Campbell completed nine of his 14 passes for 105 yards with an interception and the Gold's lone touchdown, a 35-yard floater over the middle of the field to Markese Triplett.

The two came into Saturday battling for a chance to back up Davis next season.

Junior Desmond Johnson and redshirt freshman Jamal Woodyard combined to rush for 230 yards with three touchdowns.
