GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - At least a dozen students were injured in an accident involving a Harrison County school bus. It happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Dedeaux Road by the Pepsi Plant according to Harrison County School Superintendent Henry Arledge.
Arledge said 45 students from North Gulfport 7th and 8th Grade School were on board and at least 10 to 12 students complained of nose or shoulder injuries. Arledge said seven students were taken to the hospital with bumps and bruises.
Arledge said the injuries are not considered life threatening.
Capt. Carl Gangemi with the Gulfport Police Department said a Suzuki pulled out in front of the bus and struck it on the driver side.
Gangemi said the driver of the Suzuki was transported to the hospital.
