According to media reports found on line today, the noted hurricane forecasters Phil Klotzbach and William Gray released their initial predictions for the 2011 hurricane season.
Their team says 16 names storms will form this summer. And nine of those Atlantic storms will become hurricanes. The forecasters believe five of those hurricanes will be at least a category three storm.
The Colorado State University forecasters say there's a 72% chance at least one major hurricane will make landfall somewhere in the United States this year.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration releases its 2011 forecast next month.
