Messy Chicken
A friend served me this many years ago and it has become a favorite in my home. I hope your family will enjoy it as well.
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
2 cups ketchup
2 1/2 Tablespoons onion flakes
2 1/2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 1/2 - 3 pounds chicken, cut into pieces
Spray the bottom of the baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Mix together the remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken. Bake at 400 degrees F for one hour.
Nancy's Easy Chicken Pot Pie
4 or 5 pieces chicken w/ skin
Large onion
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 cans mixed vegetables
2 cups broth from boiling chicken
1 can Cream of chicken soup
1 cup flour
1 cup whole milk
1 stick margarine, melted
Boil chicken in 4 cups water with onion, salt and pepper. Remove chicken from saucepan and debone. Place skinless deboned chicken in bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan.
Drain canned vegetables and layer over chicken in casserole.
Mix 2 cups of the chicken broth and soup together. Ladle over vegetables.
Mix together flour, milk and margarine. Pour on top of casserole. DO NOT STIR.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until top is brown.
