CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - A Mississippi National Guard soldier who is exhibiting photos of life in Iraq at Southern Miss is now displaying other similar photos at Camp Shelby. 1st Lt. David Holland is the photographer behind Baghdad Beyond the Wire.
It's a collection of photos he took in Iraq in 2008 while he was deployed with the 890th Engineer Battalion. A collection of Holland's photos are currently at the Southern Miss Museum of Art.
And Tuesday, a reception was held at the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby for a separate collection of his work.
"A lot of the times, you don't hear the good things that go on and I wanted the people to see and have a little respect and understand the soldiers that have to go over there and protect people and along the way, to understand how good we have it here in the States," Holland said.
Holland's collection at Camp Shelby will be exhibited through April 2nd.
His collection at Southern Miss will be on display until March 2nd.
