Rebecca Powers checked in after her appearance as guest co-host on ABC's "The View." Here are some notes from her travel log:
Saturday: Arrived at JFK and found a limo driver waiting for me. He was holding a card with my name on it, just like the movies. I was all alone in the back, so I talked to the driver on the way to the hotel on New York's Upper West Side. Homework Saturday night. A messenger from "The View" dropped of notes for the shows, along with CD of and a movie clip. They weren't presents; they were the background material to learn about the guests.
Sunday: My mom and sister arrived and we took in some of the city's sights; The Empire State Building, The Guggenheim museum and some great restaurants.
Monday: The Big Day! That black stretch limo picked me up again. I had breakfast with Joy, Star and Meredith. Then it was on to make up and the pre-show story meeting. The View's make up room was like a giant salon. The co-hosts arrived without a bit of powder or blush; all the beautifying was left to the professionals. Show Time: I was very comfortable. I thought I'd be so nervous, but I wasn't. I was completely calm, but very excited. Everyone was super-sweet. I gave them a little presents from home, a sand dollar from Biloxi, pralines and a Voodoo doll from New Orleans.
