GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Autopsy results released Tuesday show a man who died while in booking at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center had a large amount of cocaine in his system.
Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said Richard Quinn, 30, of Biloxi was arrested early Sunday morning by Gulfport Police. While at the jail, he suffered a medical emergency and was taken to Garden Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dr. Paul McGarry conducted the autopsy and found Quinn died from ingesting a large amount of cocaine.
The Harrison County District Attorney's Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations are conducting an investigation, along with the Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff said Quinn had been arrested just after 4am on several misdemeanor and traffic charges.
